Q: My son/daughter has never played before. Can they join?
A: Absolutely! We are a youth league open to all children grades K to 8 at all levels (beginner or with experience). Read more about Our Mission (click) here.
Q: We are very new to lacrosse. Can you provide more info on the sport, rules, equipments, etc?
A: Our website has lot of valuable information to give you more idea about the club and lacrosse.

Sponsor pages and sign-up to volunteer and be a sponsor to help our club. As we are an all volunteer club, we welcome all the help.
Q: When do the teams meet for practices?
A: The winter clinics on Nov. to Dec. are on Saturdays. The start time depends on the grade level. The team practices starting indoor on Jan - March are also on Saturdays. After that when Spring comes and weather clears, we will start team practices outside at the MW HS Plateau fields and those will be scheduled by the coaches on 1-2 weeknights about 6pm or so. Once we assign your kids their team, please let the coaches know early what works for you so they can take it into consideration when deciding practice times.
Q: When and where are team games held?
A: Games are on 1 weekend either AM or PM depending the game schedule which we will distribute ahead of time early Spring. We play at "home" and around neighboring towns in the Mid-Hudson (Warwick, Chester, Cornwall, etc...)
Q: What equipment is required?
A: Please visit our webpage under "Our Mission" and look at the registration requirements section. It has info on what equipment is required for the kids.
Q: Is lacrosse a contact sport? How about for girls? Is it safe for girls?
A: Lacrosse is a contact sport for boys only. For girls, it is *NON* contact. The US Lacrosse organization spends considerable time and research in ensuring the right equipment, balls, coaching and referring are mandated to ensure safety for all our children. We follow US Lacrosse's guidelines.
Q: How much is the cost of the program? And what does it cover?
A: Please visit our Registration page (REGISTER Online) and scroll to the program you'd like to register to. The cost and requirements are specified there. Our Spring Youth Lacrosse program runs for 7.5 months and the cost covers the indoor gym fees, referree fees for every game, equipment (balls, paint, etc...), tools, coaches training, marketing and administration fees. Uniforms are not included in the cost and will be borrowed with a check deposit returned to you in exchanged for the returned uniform. We are a non-profit organization and need fundraising to keep our costs down and raise funds to improve our programs and events.
Q: Who coaches lacrosse in your club?
A: We have talented parent volunteers who coach our children. Most of them have been coaching with us for years, including the founders of the club in 2009. Some of our coaches currently play adult lacrosse. We require all our coaches to go through lacrosse training, proper contact (with children) and background checks. We are open to new parent volunteers who would like to help coach.
Q: Who runs the management of the club?
A: The club board members are also parent volunteers who have/had children participate in the club. We are volunteers who believe in our mission and want to continue spread the exciting game of lacrosse in our continue. Q: Is there a trial free session?
A: For the Spring Registration, the first 2 winter clinics held in early November are open for trials. Please come stop by and meet the board, coaches, other parents and kids. Please note that the team practices and games vary from the clinics. The best thing to do is try it out. We are sure you will enjoy it. In the Fall (Sept-Oct), we also hold FREE Fall Clinics and we have low-cost Summer Lacrosse program in June-July.
Q: I'd like to help volunteer. What opportunities are there?
A: We would LOVE to hear from you! There are many volunteer opportunities in our club from being a team manager, to photography, marketing, apparel sales, fundraising and events planning. Please check out our webpage -

We are also open to have High School volunteers. If you would like to assist lacrosse coaches and help kids from Kinder to Grade 8 to learn lacrosse, get volunteer hours to contribute to your comprehensive diploma, and can commit to consistent attendance and good conduct, please register now. Prior experience in lacrosse or assisting coaches preferred. All HS volunteers will be required to attend a mandatory orientation and sign a code of conduct and volunteer expectation form before starting.

* Get Involved - Sponsor page and be an individual sponsor to help our club. Click on the REGISTER Online link and scroll down to the "MWYL Sponsorship" section. Click Begin registration and provide any amount you'd like to donate. All donations help keep our program registration costs down, provide our coaches with continued training, equipment and tools they need, start a fund for safety equipment and help increase awareness of the game of lacrosse in our community. All donations are tax deductible.
